Procurement of architectural services
The selection of tenderers will be based on best value principles and will be undertaken by the by Selection Panel (made up of Send Parish Councillors):
• Stage 0 – Expression of interest – March 2023 > Selection of 5 to max 6 companies for interview
• Stage 1 Interview – April 2023 > if required selection of 2 or more companies for Stage 2 interview
• Stage 2 Interview (if required) – end May 2023 > Selection of 1 company
Send Pavilion Redevelopment Plan Survey (October 2021)
The Parish Council used the survey to ask residents what improvements they would like to see made to the facility to enable respondents and members of their household to actively use it now and in the future.
The survey was developed and undertaken by Action in rural Sussex working in conjunction with Send Parish Council, trustees of Send Recreation Ground Charity, to provide residents an opportunity to express their views which have been independently analysed by Action in rural Sussex (AirS)
A total of 297 responses were received to the 1678 surveys sent out to all households. This represents a response rate of 18% based on the number of households they survey was sent out to.
This survey was more detailed and encouraged residents to respond even if they do not use the recreation ground.

Send Pavilion Redevelopment Plan Survey (January 2021)
A parish wide survey was developed and undertaken by Action in rural Sussex as part of the consultation exercise to inform the Pavilion Redevelopment Committee.
The Parish Council promoted and advertised the survey through a variety of means eg in the latest edition of Ripley and Send Matters, and via social media.
The initial deadline of the 8th January 2021 was extended until the 18th January 2021 to allow for more responses.
The survey was conducted using a questionnaire consisting of both closed and open-ended questions. This mix allows questions to focus on obtaining specific pieces of information tailored at responding to certain issues or themes (closed questions), whilst allowing a degree of freedom in the responses which people provide (open questions).
A total of 100 responses were received to the survey all of which were completed online using the link provided.
Send Community Survey Jan 2021 Report
Introduction
Send Parish Council is planning a project to redevelop the Pavilion on Send Recreation Ground. The project will be funded using a contribution that is being made to the Parish Council in connection with the development in Tannery Lane, as required by GBC as part of the site’s planning application.
In order to obtain views about this project from the local community, the Parish Council undertook an online survey from December 2020 until mid-January 2021. The results of the survey will now be used to inform the delivery of this project.
“At times local developers are required to provide some community funds to the area
where their development is constructed. Part of such funding is often designated to make improvements to recreation facilities or open spaces particularly as there will be many new people wanting to use them. Send PC asked to have the funding from local developments to go towards improvements to the recreation ground including its old pavilion. In addition, it is hoped to also find other funding sources to make the best possible enhancements.”
