19/P/02149 Land to the rear of 5 Send Barns Lane
Outline application for the erection of 28 dwellings with associated landscaping and parking following demolition of 5 Send Barns Lane; creation of a new access off Send Barns Lane (all matters reserved except access)
Agreed response: – Objection. The final response will be agreed at the Council Meeting on 20th January but the
following points will be considered in the response:-
• The land is inset but is outside the settlement boundary
• Overdevelopment of previously Green Belt land
• Removal of one house for the building of an additional 27 houses in The Thames Basin
• Proposal does not provide sufficient parking for the proposed residents and visitors and there is no facility for on street parking on the A247
• Proposal is so close to the traffic lights where a number of accidents have been recorded
• Traffic on the Send Barns Lane is already at capacity with regular long tailbacks
• Visibility for access from the site would be difficult during school drop off and collections and children walking to school
• No safe pedestrian crossing outside the school and an increase in the number of vehicles and limited visibility would increase the risk
• VMC already very busy
• Proposal would remove the privacy and amenity from neighbouring properties in Send Barns Lane, Box & Holly Court and Send Marsh Road
• The area floods frequently and with the new houses already built locally this could exacerbate the problem
• Loss of Green Belt corridor for wildlife
• Large number of applications and developments in the area
• Effect on the A247 of major developments in Send and neighbouring boroughs eg Woking
• Co-ordination between GBC and surrounding boroughs regarding infrastructure
19/P/02164 29 Sanger Drive
Conversion of loft space to habitable accommodation, including one dormer to the front and two to the rear Agreed response:- Objection. Whilst the Parish Council understands that loft conversions are in line with other developments the dormer windows at third storey level will impact the privacy and amenity of the neighbouring properties. If the plan is approved the dormer windows should be replaced with velux windows to protect the neighbours privacy

Agreed response: – No comment
