   Parish council looking for a village caretaker    2 March, 2017

Send Parish Council is looking to appoint a Village Caretaker for 7 hrs a week @ £12 an hr + mileage allowance (hours flexible - to negotiate) from April 2017

Duties are varied and will include the following:

  • Helping to keep our play areas safe and clean
  • Keeping our open spaces clean and tidy
  • Redecorating and minor repairs to benches, bus shelters and other street furniture
  • Maintaining and servicing the public information boards including removing old notices and putting up new ones (at least twice a month when the Council needs notification of its meetings).
  • Assisting with miscellaneous ground or property issues which are presenting problems to villagers or require urgent attention e.g. a fallen branch, cutting overhanging vegetation etc.
  • Help keep our pavilion on the recreation ground in good order
  • Assisting the Clerk with odd jobs

Applicants must hold a driving licence and use of a car is essential together with maintenance skills.
